I was thinking it...I can't work out what it is. I was thinking it can't be a dead person's arm walled up to disguise a murder, a la CSI, because he's smiling. It can't be a partly done light fitting, like the arms in the corridor in Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast. Maybe it's a really unappealing sculpture that everyone dreamt of for their homes in the 1950s... hard to imagine though.
